About Mary Clare Johnson:
Mary Clare Johnson has been a professional artist and Art instructor since 1984. She not only produces her own artwork, but she truly enjoys teaching it to others, as well. Mary Clare is now retired from teaching for the last 35 years and is focusing on her own production of work and now offering her expertise to this wonderfully welcoming community of Allegan.
Her art is about capturing that which deserves to be celebrated or remembered longer than it is allowed to exist on its own.
She is commissioned to do portraits, teach art sessions, and has also worked as a book illustrator.
Her style of drawing and painting can be described as Realistic to somewhat Impressionistic. Her work has been featured in the Grand Rapids Art Museum, Muskegon Museum of Art, purchased for Michigan Art Education buildings, many juried shows, galleries, and in homes across the country.
