Pickly Street Studio presents a 3-day workshop: Water, Light, and Color; Up Front and Highly Personal – with Sharon Griffes Tarr, Master Artist
Fri, Sat, Sunday June 26 – 28, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm daily
Cost – $290.00
This workshop explores the intimate effects of how light transforms waves and reflections on water. We’ll study ‘Big Lake’ shoreline waves, and wavelets in small lakes and ponds where waterlilies grow. The study of light on water will include elements such as perspective, color use, and the best palette choices for authentic representation of these watery phenomena. Students will complete a series of color studies and at least one painting. Time allowing, we will also address how to incorporate Koi fish into intimate pond scenes.
Students will benefit from this workshop if they have some drawing and painting skills in their chosen medium. The class is appropriate for all painting mediums. Demonstrations will be conducted in oil.
