About Kristina Spitzner:
Kristina Spitzner is a local artist specializing in Botanical Watercolors and Natural Science Illustration.
After working for many years in graphic design and advertising, she discovered a new passion for painting with watercolors, and has been pursuing it for the past 15 years. In 2010, she was accepted into and completed a three year distance masters program in traditional botanical watercolor through the Society of Botanical Artists-UK, based in Kew Gardens of London, England. She is now also a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists (ASBA), and the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators (GNSI). She currently spends most of her time in freelance and commission work for publications and private collections, gallery exhibits and shows, and sharing her love of art and nature through teaching watercolor, botanical art, and nature journaling at various events and venues, including the local community arts education center, Design Street of Plainwell, Michigan (designstreetplainwell.com).
